If you have been arrested for Drunk Driving in any of the Boroughs in New York City, you wil lbe brought before the a video camera which in the same room as the Breathalyzer 5000. You will first be asked to take the breathalyzer test. If you do the test will be recorded on camera. You will then be asked to do physical coordination tests which will also be videotaped.

These tests are designed for you to fail. The police officers are actually trained to try and confuse you and give you confusing instruction and as soon as you miss one step, they will write on their reports that you were drunk. This happens very quickly and the entire event will last approximately 15-20 minutes. After this is done you will be brought to Central Booking in the borough that you were arrested in. Depending on how busy the Court is you will have to wait in a holding cell for 15-32 hours. Queens is the fastest arraignment while the Bornx and Brooklyn are the slowest and least organized. You will then see the judge and he will determine if bail should be set and how much. Your license will also be suspended at this point and you will be given a future date to come back to address the charges.
